ight years ago, I partnered with my good friend and amazing magician Jeff Case to produce LEMON DROP.  Jeff's routine is incredible and pure poetry in motion, but it is 100% sleight-of-hand that harkens back to Mark Jenest and his groundbreaking JIGGERNAUT routine. 

 

For years, fellow magicians have been asking me to make a chopped jigger and I did produce a very limited quantity using a traditional Japanese Style jigger with olives that sold-out in 24 hours. 

 

Sour Mix is not just an extension of my original chopped jigger but a full professional routine. I truly believe I have hit it out of the park with this one! The props work as they should.  I changed the shape of the jigger so the chop function works like an absolute dream without unexpected mishaps and the bright yellow lemons make the effect crystal clear and easy to follow.

 

The routine combines standard sleight-of-hand techniques with the hold-out features of a chop cup.  Toss in a storyline that makes sense, and watch jaws hit the floor as you end the performance by pouring a drink out of the jigger.  Sour Mix can be performed seated or standing and when you're done, leave everything on the table... the jigger, shot glass, mini lemon and the cork because everything can be examined.

I cannot express how proud I am of this creation.  The basic concept has been in my head forever.  However, being able to create EXACTLY what I wanted was a dream come.  Often in magic, it is a bit of give and take sacrificing one thing for another.  I know once you get this in your hands and start performing it in front of an audience you will be as excited as I am.​​​​
